italki.com is a website for learning languages.  Our goal is to help our members learn foreign languages by finding language exchange partners and creating a community of language students.  We believe the best way to learn a language is through immersion, and that the internet can provide that for free through web-based communication tools.

italki.com is a privately funded company based in Shanghai, China.  Its founders are Chinese and American.  We've all been language students, and we're still going through the pain and fun of learning a foreign language.
