Today when you're on italki, you’ll notice a few changes.
1) Message Center
You have a new message center, which includes your former Inbox, but also now adds system messages from italki, and other members’ posts on your Blackboard. We hope this will make it easier to see and respond to all your messages.
2) Settings
Under Settings, you can now change your own email address or deactivate your account. This is a self-help feature many of you have been looking for, and while Ms. Help enjoys reading and responding to all your feedback, she will be glad to let you change your own email address or deactivate your account.
3)
Inviting Friends
Now it’s even easier to get friends on italki! We have added a feature that searches your webmail contacts (Gmail, Yahoo! mail, msn Hotmail, or Windows Live) to help you find friends that are already on italki or to ask friends to join you in learning languages on italki. I know this is something I’ve been wanting for a long time, so I’ll use this feature to ask all of my Dutch, Chinese, and Spanish-speaking email contacts to join italki.
4) Email Confirmation
When new language learners join italki, it will be easier for them to confirm their email. When registering a new account, after providing an email address and clicking “Submit,” we’ll provide a button that sends them to their email server to immediately confirm their email address (only for popular email servers, like those listed above).
Please try out these new features and tell us what you think. We encourage your to send your feedback on these or any other features you’d like to see to feedback@italki.com or leave a message on our Contact Us page. We're always looking for new ideas to make italki better.
